  • Schooled at La Martiniere for Girls, Masters in Public Health from University of California Los Angeles, Environment Management course from Administrative Staff College Hyderabad, Ornithology course at Cornell University.
  • Founder President of PUBLIC (People United for Better Living in Calcutta), an NGO promoting environmental awareness and action in Calcutta.
  • Consultant with World Bank, German & Netherlands Governments, UNICEF, USAID, Micronutrients Initiative in India, Nigeria, Zambia and Bangladesh.
  • Widely traveled through the world’s unique natural areas – the Amazon, the Galapagos islands, and Papua New Guinea.
  • Former Project & Education Officer for WWF-India, Eastern Region.
  • Active at city, state and national levels on environment related bodies.
  • Member, Governing Council, Bombay Natural History Society (2014 – present).
  • Member, East Kolkata Wetlands Management Authority (2008 – present).
  • Member, Calcutta High Court Committee on tree felling (2014).
  • Petitioner-participant, Calcutta High Court appointed High Power Committee on wetlands (2014).
