About SHE

India has close to 300 species of snakes, out of which 66 have been identified as venomous & mildly venomous. Around 15 species are medically significant. However the highest number of deaths and disabilities are from the Big 4; namely the Naja naja, Daboia russelii, Bungarus caeruleus and Echis carinatus. With a large number of annual fatalities, India is considered the “death by snakebite “capital of the world.
